Beckett Nau Obituary

Beckett Robert Nau, son of Brandon and Sarah Nau, passed peacefully in his parents’ loving arms, surrounded by family, March 10, 2018.

Beckett was born on September 2, 2017. He was welcomed into the Nau family by his parents and older brothers, Xander (14) and Arronington (13). Beckett loved cuddling, lights, and listening to the music of Moana. He was well known for his full head of curly blond hair. Beckett was born the day the University of Iowa began their wonderful tradition known as “The Wave.” Beckett and his family enjoyed waving back every Saturday from the twelfth floor, overlooking Kinnick stadium.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 12 from 4:00 to 7:00 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa. Since Beckett spent much of his life at the University of Iowa Hospital, the family will be wearing their Hawkeye attire to the visitation and welcomes all others to wear theirs as well to celebrate Beckett’s time as a Hawkeye and give him one final “wave.”

In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Patrick and Jill Montgomery, aunts Amanda (and Erin) Mullin and Hannah Montgomery, great-grandfather, Orville Buikema, and great-grandmother Trudy Montgomery. His paternal grandparents, Beth Nau and Brad Nau, aunts, Danielle Nau and Chloe Nau, uncle Creighton Nau, and great-grandmothers Michelle Huber and Diane Huber.

Beckett was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother (Evelyn Buikema), maternal great-grandfather (Kenneth Montgomery), and paternal great-grandfathers (Robert Huber) and (Robert Nau), paternal great-grandmother (Phyllis Nau), and paternal uncle (Cameron Nau).

A private burial will take place later in the week.
