Fay Luce Obituary

Fay E. Luce, 95, of Milan, passed away Wednesday March 7, 2018 at Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island.

 Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 15th, at First Presbyterian Church, Milan, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Milan.

 Fay was born August 24, 1922 in Osceola, Nebraska, a daughter of Charles E. and Gertrude O’Rear Harvey.

 She married James O. Luce on June 10, 1944 in Galveston, Tex. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1986.

In earlier years, Fay was a secretary at Lowry Field AFB, Denver, Colo. She later worked for the Village of Milan, Water Dept. and then served as Deputy Clerk of Rock Island Circuit Court.

 She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Milan, Ruth-Naomi Circle of the church, King’s Daughters, and was active in the P.T.A. She was an avid reader.

 Surviving are her sister, Zoe Prucha of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and many nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James O. Luce II, sisters, Marie and Nadine Harvey, and Hildred Morgan; and brothers, Gale, Byrd, Elwill and Fred Harvey.
