Harlan F. Druckmiller, 88, of Taylor Ridge, passed away Wednesday May 8, 2019 at Sunnybrook Assisted Living, Muscatine.
Funeral services will be 11am Saturday at Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church, with visitation one hour prior. Private burial will follow in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the Rockridge Food Pantry.
Harlan was born on September 3, 1930 in Rock Island, the son of Howard and Vida (Hill) Druckmiller. He was a graduate of Rock Island High School, attended Augustana Collge and later graduated from Iowa State College with his bachelor’s degree. He married Nancy Kleinhen on November 10, 1956 in Davenport.
Harlan was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.
Mr. Druckmiller and his brother, Jon owned and operated Druckmiller Bros. Gypsum Supply Co. in Andalusia. He worked as a painter and dry walling contractor, retiring in 1993.
Harlan was a member of Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon and Elder, Andalusia and Durant Lions Club, and had served as President of the PDCA Quad City Chapter.
Harlan loved spending time with his family and traveling every winter to Kauai, Hawaii with Nancy. He also enjoyed canoeing, farming and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nancy; daughters, Susan Tisinger, Muscatine, Lee-Ann Druckmiller, Muscatine, Julia Druckmiller (Tom Snee), Iowa City; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Carol, Janet, Ethan; great grandchildren, Max, Sam, Kai and Noa; sister, Marilyn Titterington, Taylor Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Vida; brother, Jon and grandson, Jason.
