Herminia "Minnie" V. (Perez) Manthe

Herminia V. "Minnie" Manthe, 73 , of Rock Island passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity, Rock Island.  Funeral services for Herminia will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Memorials may be made in care of the QC Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Herminia was born on April 25, 1944 in Los Fresnos, TX, a daughter of Pablo and Virginia Vela Perez.  She married Milo Manthe on July 11, 1964 in Rock Island.  Minnie was a homemaker for her husband; they were married for over 50 years. Milo preceded her in death on October 28, 2014.  Minnie greatly enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crocheting, gardening, cooking and listening to Mexican music.  She had a special bond with her animals, especially her dogs.

Left to cherish her memory are her siblings; Lydia V. Martinez, Muscatine, IA; Domingo V. (Josefina) Perez, Sr., Kingsville, TX; Francisco V. (Brenda) Perez, Sr., Colona; sister in law, Benilde Perez, Bettendorf;  special friends, Shirley Traman and Ethan Simmons; her caregiver, Carol Johnson; and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sister; Bernarda V. Gonzalez and brother, Pablo V. Perez, Jr.
