Joan (Hillman) Larsen

                Joan Larsen, 91, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at her residence.

                A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 6 pm on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the funeral home.  Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to Broadway Presbyterian Church, Rock Island.

                Joan was born on August 7, 1926 in Rock Island, the daughter of William Irving and Margaret (Leasure) Hillman.  She married Ward Larsen in 1948, and he preceded her in death in 1993.  Joan graduated from Rock Island High School and got a Bachelor’s Degree from Augustana College.  She worked as the co-owner of Larsen and Company Builders.  Prior to working at Larsen and Company Builders she: taught dance, worked in a dental lab, and Bear Manufacturing, Rock Island.  She was a member of Broadway Presbyterian Church, RI Art Guild, Augustana Endowment Society, and the “Old Boaters.”

                Joan is survived by her daughter, Linda Pfaff; grandchildren, Jonathan (Jennifer) Pfaff and Will (Jennifer) Pfaff; great grandchildren, Lillian, Blaker, Carter, Sydney, Grace, and Morgan; sister-in-law, Betty Tusler; niece, Karen Albrecht; and great niece, Brenna Rottman.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, William Hillman; and son-in-law, Kenneth Pfaff.
