Loretta Marie (Houston) Carroll

Loretta M. Carroll, 78, of Rock Island, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.  A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20th at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Island.  Private inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made in care of St. Anthony's Activities Committee.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Loretta was born on January 1, 1938 in Rock Island, a daughter of Kenneth and Martha Brown Houston.  In 1960, she married Norman Carroll in California.  He passed away on May 16, 1996.  Loretta loved preaching the word of God and providing spiritual encouragement to all.  She also greatly enjoyed crochet, arts and crafts and spending time with her family and many friends at St. Anthony's.

She is survived by her children; Rachel Stamps, Kenneth (Marie) Carroll, Martha (Donald) Dean, Michael (Stephanie) Carroll, Nancy (Keith) Willhite and Nellie Anguiano; 14 grandchildren,  7 great grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; parents; sister, Nellie West;  brother, Daniel Houston and a granddaughter, Maria Anguiano
