Marvin S. Keller, 67, of Coyne Center, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 15th, 2017.

A funeral service for Marvin will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2017, at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 4th Ave. E, Milan.  Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017, at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Chapel Grove Cemetery.

Marvin was born October 19, 1949, in Rock Island, Illinois to Theodore and Vera (Liphardt)Keller. Marvin was married to his loving wife Susan, July 2, 2005, at their home in Illinois City.  Marvin was previously married to Melody Randall and Diane Barber.  He worked for Dohrn Transfer for 25 plus years before he retired as a billing manager and they were extremely good to him all of those years and helped a lot during his illness.

Marvin was a friendly, sociable guy with a finely honed dry sense of humor, specializing in sarcasm. He enjoyed and was good at fishing and water skiing, but mostly loved rounds of golf with his friends followed by rounds of beer at Dooley’s Bar.  The St. Louis Cardinals were blessed with the most loyal fan as Marvin attended games as a young boy with his father and continued to attend games all his life until he was no longer physically able to do so.

Marvin loved nature and was justly proud of his vegetable garden. Following in his father's footsteps he took great satisfaction in maintaining a beautifully tended yard wherever he resided. Marvin was a resilient fighter as he battled Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia for 19 years. He also served in the Army National Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Timmons-Keller; children, Rick (Abbie) Keller, Moline, Jaime (Kevin) Atwood, East Moline, Chuck (Kristy) Keller, Coyne Center, Brandy Keller, Stillwater, MN and step children, Stephanie (Craig) Slaughter, St. Charles MO, and Lee (Trisha) Weeks, Bluegrass, IA; grandchildren; Tristyn Rivera, Emma Atwood, Ethan Rivera, Julia Keller, Ashley Kelly, Anthony McGill, Ethan Slaughter, Noah Slaughter and great grandchild, Leila Jean; sisters, Barbara Lamson, Corpus Christi, TX, Peggy Beane, Largo, FL and his beloved dogs, Buster and Chloe, along with many in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, cousins, and life-long friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Theodore Keller; mother, Vera Lester; niece, Ann Lamson; grandson, Foster Atwood; his best buddy, Roger Evins, and his loyal dogs, Muffy and Rambo.

Memorials may be made to the Non Hodgkins Lymphoma Society, as his family will be forever grateful for the help they offered Marvin in his time of need.  Marvin's family would also like to thank Dr. Constantinou and UnityPoint Hospice for their excellent care.
