Paul A. Rhoden, Sr.

Paul A. Rhoden, Sr., 78, of Rock Island, passed away, Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at his home. Services for Mr. Rhoden will be 12 Noon on Saturday at Second Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the family. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family. Paul was born on June 28, 1939 in Biscoe, Arkansas, a son of Arthur Rhoden and Lillie Mae Bryant Rhoden. He married Marilyn Holland on August 23, 1963 in Chicago. Later he married Earline Smith on April 17, 2006 in Rock Island. Paul worked at Sara Lee as a baker before his retirement. He enjoyed doing martial arts. Survivors include his wife Earline; step mother, Alice Rhoden, Florida; children, Kenneth Holland, Rock Island, Ricky Holland, Rock Island, Byron (Monique) Rhoden, East Moline; step children, Lytronda Smith, Davenport, Gwenetta (Julius) Reed, Davenport, Memory Smith, East Moline and Ivory Smith, Davenport; 18 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; siblings, Phyllis Konczal, Chicago, Bertha Cooper, Florida, Fannie Thomas, Florida, Linda Rhoden, Rock Island, Deborah Armstrong, Nathaniel Rhoden, Florida, Michael Waters, Rock Island, Oscar Rhoden, Davenport, Enoch Rhoden, Nebraska.
