Ronald Graham Daugherty

Ronald G. Daugherty, 73, of Sherrard, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island.  Visitation will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, with a Rosary being recited at 4 p.m.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made in care of St. Pius X Catholic Church or Jordan Catholic School, Rock Island.

Ronald was born in Daviess County, Ky. on July 6, 1943, a son of Earl and Lillian S. Bowlds Daugherty.  He married Barbara Stinnett on June 1, 1963 in Owensboro, Ky.  She preceded him in death on August. 28, 2007.

Ronald worked in maintenance for Blackhawk Freight and later for Jordan Catholic School.

He was a member at St. Pius X Catholic Church and enjoyed doing yard work and fishing.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Gayla (Steve) Rummans, Waterford, Wisc., R. Scott (Melinda) Daugherty, Owensboro, Ky. and Kimberly Daugherty, Milan; grandchildren, Anthony (Jen) Rummans, Kameron (Laura) Rummans, Krista Knight, Nick (Erica) Daugherty, Matthew Smith, Justice Daugherty, Destinee Daugherty, Levi Daugherty, Lily Daugherty, Luke Daugherty, Kylan Daugherty and Kennedy Deloose; and siblings, Nancy Hendricks, Dorothy (Bob) Whitmer, Darrell Daugherty, Jerry (Dawn) Daugherty, Gary (Debbie) Daugherty, Dennis (Mary) Daugherty, Sue Ann Daugherty, Rita Roberson, David M. Daugherty, Michael Daugherty, Mary Lee Stemmerman and Jeffrey Daugherty.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, grandson, Andrew S. Rummans and siblings, Earl W. and Theresa Daugherty.
