Tom B. Flaugh, 61, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at home surrounded by family. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Knox Chapel of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 2106 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be an hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow the services. Memorials may be made in care of the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
Tom was born in Rock Island on October 26, 1956, a son of Calvin and Mary Joan Hutchinson Flaugh. He married Paula Wells-Davis on February 17, 2007 in Rock Island.
Tom most recently worked at Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard in Rock Island. He previously worked at Case I.H., Servus Rubber and owned and operated T & M Bait and Tackle for several years in Rock Island.
Tom’s favorite hobby was working on and racing stock cars. He was an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed attending races at the Chicagoland Speedway and even drove a stock car at the Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. He also enjoyed iRacing, fishing and putting together NASCAR model cars.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Flaugh, Rock Island; children, Thomas M. (Jenna) Flaugh, Davenport, Jason (Amanda) Flaugh, Coal Valley, Trisha (Ali) Rasheed, Rock Island, Jennifer (John) Lazenby, Mo., Amanda (Steve Stoner) McPherson, Muscatine, Anna (Jason) Crank, Huxley, Iowa, Alexander Davis and Anthony Davis, both of Ames, Iowa; grandchildren, Alexis, Whitney, Noah and Leona Flaugh; siblings, Diana (Bill) Hoffman and Mike (Linda) Flaugh, both of Rock Island; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 grandchildren, Ian, Marie and McKayla Flaugh.
