Valerie J. Gutierrez

 Valerie J. Gutierrez, 67, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday October 29, 2017 at her home.

 Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later.

 Valerie was born December 29, 1949 in Rock Island, a daughter of Epifanio “Eppie” and Mary Hershey Gutierrez. She graduated from Rock Island High School and attended Black Hawk College.

 In addition to being a homemaker, she enjoyed working at Franciscan Hospital, Rock Island.

  Valerie loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all. She enjoyed reading.

 Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Lisa Loveless, Rock Island, and Kevin and Sue Loveless, Bettendorf; grandchildren, Karley Loveless, Blake Loveless, Brooke Fredricks, Kayla Bennett, Morgan Loveless, Londyn Loveless, and Dalton Loveless; mother, Mary Gutierrez, Rock Island; siblings, Sharon Anderson, Rock Island, Mark Gutierrez, Leesville, Louisiana, Brian (Patricia) Gutierrez, Rock Island, Brent Gutierrez, Moline, and Lisa (Ken) Ellison, Rock Island; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Valerie was preceded in death by her father and one granddaughter, Lauren A. Loveless.
