William E. "Long Hair Willy" Aubuchon

William E. "Long Hair Willy" Aubuchon Jr., 77, of Rock Island, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at his home. Graveside services for William will be 2:30 pm, Wednesday at the Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Rev. Rosemary Aubuchon will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the  Vietnam Veterans of America Quad Cities Chapter No. 299. Those wishing to attend the services at the Rock Island National Cemetery should meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island at 2 pm. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the family. William was born on June 12, 1940 in Kansas City, a son of William Sr. and Maxine Aubuchon. He married Rosemary Gruner on April 6, 1995 in Rock Island, Illinois. William retired as a Petty Officer First Class in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Milan Lions Club, American Legion Riders and the Vietnam Veterans of America. He enjoyed motorcycles, spending time with family and friends, and displaying the flag of the United States of America. Survivors include his wife, Rev. Rosemary Aubuchon; brothers, Donald Aubuchon, Robert Aubuchon; sister, Kay Aubuchon-Hansen; children, William Aubuchon III, Bob Aubuchon and Paul Aubuchon; stepson, Jason Gruner; and many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
