| Gordon R. Sampson, 70, of Rock Island, died Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Trinity Medical
Center, Rock Island. Services for Mr. Sampson will be 7:00 pm on Wednesday at the
Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 – E. 4th Avenue, Milan. Visitation will be on Wednesday
from 4 pm until the time of service. Memorials may be made to the family. Inurnment will
be at a later date.
Gordon was born on June 5, 1937 in Sterling, IL the son of Reeves and Lucille Scott Sampson.
He married Brenda Pack on February 1, 1964 in Sterling. Mr. Sampson worked as a rewind
operator for Nichols- Homeshield, Davenport, retiring in 2000. Gordon loved and enjoyed
spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Sampson was a watch maker, who enjoyed
building and repairing watches, he was also a locksmith. Gordon was also an avid sports fan and golfer.
In early years he was a member of the Iowa Air National Guard, Davenport.
Survivors include his sons and their spouses, Kevin and Susan Sampson, Milan,
Jody and Cindy Sampson, Rock Island; grandchildren, Raegan, Abigael, Jocee, Caden and Brenden;
Sister and brother in law, Marilyn and Jordon Daniel, East Moline; nephews, Brian Daniel and Jay Daniel. Among his others survivors are, R.D., Courtney, Ashley and her children.
Mr. Sampson was preceded in death by his parents.
