Evelyn M. Carlson, 87, of Taylor Ridge, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Entombment will be in the Memorial Park Mausoleum, Rock Island. Visitation is 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Taylor Ridge United Methodist Church.
The former Evelyn Blaser was born on October 27, 1920 in Blackhawk Township, a daughter of Harry and Annie Carothers Blaser. She married A. Harold Carlson on July 12, 1942 in Taylor Ridge.
Evelyn graduated from the Reynolds High School and the St. Anthony’s Hospital School for Nursing.
She was a member of the Taylor Ridge United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women and Quilting and Craft Club, both of the church. She was also a member of the Neighborhood Lady’s Club. Evelyn enjoyed doing craft work.
Survivors include her husband, Harold; daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia A. and Kent Slusher, Danville, Ill. and Cyndy L. and Allyn Montgomery, Effingham, Ill.; grandchildren, Douglas Paul Slusher, Rantoul, Ill. and Michelle L. Hobaugh and her husband Eric, Floyds Knobs, Ind.; great grandchildren, Matthew and Krysta Slusher and Brian and Katherine Hobaugh; a sister, Arlene Nussbaum, West Liberty, Iowa; a brother, Harold C. Blaser, Reynolds and three nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
