Virginia R. Cole-Figg, 73, of Milan, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services will be 11:00 am, Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home, where a Poppy Ceremony will
be conducted by the Milan American Legion Ladies Auxiliary No. 296 at 6:30 pm. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the family.
Virginia was born on January 6, 1935 in Milan, the daughter of Guy A. and Gladys Nichols Cole.
She married Roger Figg on April 19, 1959 in Knoxville, IL. He preceded her in death on December
8, 1998. Mrs. Figg worked for The Seaford Clothing, Rock Island retiring after 12 years of service.
Earlier she had worked at the Milan Maid-Rite, Bringer Inn, Milan and Marando’s Supper Club,
Milan. Virginia volunteered delivering meals on wheels. She was a member of Blackhawk Temple No. 254 of the Pythian Sisters, Milan, Pythian Sisters Temple, No. 237, Davenport, she was a Past Grand Chief of the Pythian Sisters Grand Temple of the State of Illinois; Milan American Legion Ladies Auxiliary No. 596, Rock Island VFW Ladies Auxiliary No.1303. Mrs. Figg was a seven gallon blood donor.
Survivors include her children, Betty, and spouse, Dan Adams, Sr., Moline, Sharon McLain, Rock Island,
and Karen Figg, Milan; grandchildren, Lonnie, Dan, Jr., David, Sr., Amber, April, Auston; great grandchildren, Justin, David, Jr., Dylan, Megan, Madison and Aiden; great- great grand daughter,
Kyliegh Amaya; a brother, Charles “Chick” Cole, Milan; a step brother, Denny Manary, Rock Island.
Mrs. Figg was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roger, brother, Jim Cole, a sister,
