Imogene Spangler, 94, of Milan, died Wednesday March 19, 2008 at Avonlea Cottage, Milan. Visitation locally will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m . today at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home, 116 East Main St., Washington, IA, with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington, IA. Memorials may be made to Bethany for Children and Families for Adoption. The former Imogene Lauderman was born August 29, 1913 in Washington, IA, a daughter of Harry Lauderman and Jennie Putman Lauderman. She married Chester Spangler in 1936 in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. He preceded her in death in 1996. She was a cook for many years for the former Moline Public Hospital, Moline, Augustana College, Rock Island, and previously for Crawfordsville School in Iowa. She was a member of the former Memorial Heights United Methodist Church, Rock Island, and Retirees of Moline Public Hospital. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards and fishing. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Karla and “Spoog” McKinney, Milan; grandchildren (and spouses), Joy (Robert) Pilcher, Colona, IL, Janet (Harold) Danger, Roscoe, IL, and Jeff (Tina) McKinney, Rock Island; great grandchildren, Marco, Isaac, George, Marte, Sarah, Aaron, Laura, Briana, Bethany, and Kristin; and great great grandchildren, Lilyana and Rylee. Her parents, husband, two sons, Ronald Lee Spangler and Sidney Spangler, a brother, Wilmer Lauderman, and two sisters, Roxie Beenblossom and Cecile Coffin, preceded her in death.
