| Denise A. Joy, 48, of Rock Island, died Saturday March 29, 2008 at home.
No memorial services are planned. Inurnment will be at a later date. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, assisted the family with arrangements.
The former Denise A. Gormley was born October 26, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of William and Anne Gormley. She was employed at the Shell Express Lane on 18th Ave., Rock Island.
She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, and picnicing. She loved her pet dog “Whiskey”.
Surviving are one son, Eric Thomas Laura, Rock Island; companion, Timothy Williams, Rock Island; mother, Anne Nichols, New Port Richey, FL; sisters, Debbie Hamm, Laurie Miller, and Kelly Gormley, all of New Port Richey; brother, William Gormley, Monroe, MI; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Her father, husband, Phillip Joy, a son, Robert Lee Laura, and a brother, Timothy Gormley, preceded her in death.
