Ronald “Wayne” Tooley, 76 of Milan died, Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Fifteenth Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be given by American Legion 569/200 VFW 1303. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later.
Mr. Tooley was born September 5, 1931 in Hastings, NE, the son of Floyd and Martha Rose Means Tooley. He married Dorothy Ransom, February 1, 1954 in Belleville, Kansas.
Wayne worked for Caterpillar Company for 24 years before retiring. He then worked for Friendship Manor, Rock Island for 11 years where he was honored as the employee of the year in 1999. He was a member of Fifteenth Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island. Wayne served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a master tinkerer, he loved riding his bicycle in Milan and working in his flower garden.

is survived by his wife, Dorothy Tooley, Milan; daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne and Paul Delcourt, Rock Island; sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Vicky Tooley, Eldridge, IA, Rev. Scott and Rebecca Tooley, Long Grove, IA, Mark and Sandy Tooley, Moline; Grandchildren and their spouses, Leah and Megan Delcourt, Scottie (Jessie) Tooley, Beau (Lesley) Tooley, Tony Tooley, Brett and Kayla Tooley, Travis Swanson, Eric (Cori) Swanson, Justin Swanson; great granddaughter, Lucy Tooley; sister, Mildred White, Vidor, Texas; brother, Jerry Tooley, Taunton, Massachusetts along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by brother, Robert Tooley, sister, Eleanor Higgins.
