| Dorothy “Dottie” M. Mayne, 82 of Rock Island, died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. till service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Mrs. Mayne was born, January 13, 1926 in Rock Island, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Horton Griffin. She married Arthur “Art” Mayne in Rock Island. Along with being a homemaker, Dottie enjoyed bowling, antiques and auctions. She had been a member of the Milan American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Dottie is survived by her husband, Art; daughter, Kathy Werthmann, Milan; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Pat Mayne, Moline; grandchildren, Earnie Werthmann, Robbie Mayne, Renalda Samolitis and Marco Mayne; sisters, Lois and Helen; brothers, William, Donald and Robert along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by, granddaughter, Cynthia Pepping-Werthmann, brother, Russell and her parents.
