| Earnestine Hardwick, 79, of Rock Island, departed this life in the early morning hours on Friday, June 27, 2008 at her home.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at First Paradise Baptist Church, Rock Island. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Earnestine was born June 14th, 1929 in Cincinnati, OH, a daughter of Earnest and Jesse Hardwick.
She lived in in the Quad-cities for many years. She was an avid participant in the “In Touch” program for seniors. She was well loved there by all who knew her, especially, those who were touched by her outgoing personality and singing.
In 1984, she joined First Paradise Baptist Church, Rock Island, Rev. Juanita McAdams, Pastor, two years after it was organized and remained a faithful member there until her departure. For almost a quarter century many were blessed to hear her inspirational singing of such favorites as “What Is This”, “Stand By Me”, and “The Lord Will Make a Way Somehow”.
Earnestine will be missed but never forgotten. She is survived by her numerous friends.
