Evelyn T. Noe, 92, of Rock Island, died unexpectedly Friday, August 29, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, 7th Street Campus, Moline.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Entombment will be in the Calvary Cemetery mausoleum, Rock Island. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be 12:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church or to the American Heart Association.
Evelyn Pepping was born on October 15, 1915 in Moline, a daughter of John and Grace Gannon Pepping. She married Frank R. Noe on August 5, 1936 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island. He died March 7, 2002.
Mrs. Noe graduated from St. Joseph’s High School, Rock Island. In early years, she had worked for the former People’s Power Co., Deere and Company and for Royal Neighbors of America.
Evelyn was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, where she sang in the Funeral Choir. She was also a member of AARP Chapter 40, the Farmall Managerial Retirees Club and was a former Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and her extended family.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Marsden, Taylor Ridge, Ill.; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert J. and Marilyn Noe and Paul F. and Dee Noe, all of Rock Island; grandchildren, Steve and Michael Unzel, Dan and Greg Noe, Sara Noe Coblin, Lon Adams, Debra and Ryan Noe; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; grandsons, Tommy Unzel and Jeff Noe; and sisters, Dolores Zaleski and Loretta Himbert.
