Judy was born July 20, 1942, in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of James Stevenson Hughes and Fern Adele Tschappat. She was married for a time to John D. Anderson. She was later married to Edwin E. Doran, Jr.
Judy was head bookkeeper for E and J Metal Co. for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
Judy, whose warm spirit and love of laughter brought joy to all who shared in her life, was a remarkable woman of many interests, including her beloved dogs, camping, continuing education, and all things European. A frequent traveler, she visited at least eight foreign countries, bringing members of her family along on most of her trips. Of her many passions, the greatest was for her family. A tremendously caring mother and devoted grandmother, she always prioritized family first and established a loving bond with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her children (and their spouses), Julia Anderson (Todd) Bauer, Chicago, IL, and Edwin Eugene (Tracey) Doran III, Moline; grandchildren, Caitlyn Rose, Edwin Eugene IV, and Thomas James; mother, Fern A. Hughes, Spring Hill, FL; brothers, James B. Hughes, Spring Hill, and Gary Eugene Hughes, Rock Island; Uncle, Edward R. Tschappat, Rock Island; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Her father, James, preceded her in death.
