| Evelyn Garber, 92 of Chicago, IL, formerly of Rock Island, died Sunday November 16, 2008 in Skokie. Services are at noon Monday, November 17, 2008, at the Tri-City Jewish Center, Rock Island, followed by interment at the Hebrew Cemetery. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave, Rock Island, is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hadassah, Tri-City Jewish Center, or Magen David Adom. Evelyn was born in Chicago, daughter of Bessie and Nathan Glazer. She was a member of the Tri-City Jewish Center and life member of Hadassah. Evelyn is the beloved wife of the late Morris, loving mother of Naomi (Herschel) Strauss, Melvin (Annette) Garber, and the late Charles (Violet) Garber and sister to Eleanor (Albert) Boxerman, the late Ruth (Joseph) Wolf, and the late Sylvia (Lester) Price. Devoted grandmother of Ilana (Matthew) Bornstein, Benjamin (Jessica Fried) Strauss, Samuel Strauss. Proud great-grandmother of Dovid Zelig, Avraham Yonah, Elisheva, Moshe, and Yitzchak Bornstein , and Morris Fried. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
