| Phyllis L. Ehmen, 80, of Aledo, formerly of Milan, died Wednesday January 14, 2009 at Aledo Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Graveside services will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Sherrard Cemetery, Sherrard, IL. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan,where an American Legion Auxiliary Memorial Service will be conducted at 3:15 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later.
Phyllis was born May 16, 1928 in Metropolis, IL, a daughter of Otis Holder and Hazel Hogue Holder. She was first married to Yohman Barrett. She later married Thomas Ehmen in August of 1976 in Rock Island County. Thomas preceded her in death in 1989.
In earlier years, Phyllis was a telephone operator in Vienna, IL. She moved to the Quad-city area in 1956. She operated a beauty salon from her home for many years.
She was a member and past president of the Milan American Legion Post 569, Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to travel, camp, and hunt mushrooms in the springtime.
Survivors include her children (and spouses), Ronnie Barrett, Milan, Terry (Mary) Barrett, Aledo, and Jana (Dan) Kalinczak, Sherrard; grandchildren, Tracey, Terry Jr., Trisha, Jason, Bill IV, Ronnie Jr., Bobbie Jo, and Bobby Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas, son, Bobbie, and brother, H.T. Holder. | |
