| Michael J. “Mick” Verschorre, 52, of Rock Island, died Monday, May 25, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.
Funeral services are Noon Thursday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Burial is in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mick was born on August 14, 1956 in Moline, the son of Paul and Mary Sheley Verschorre. He married Vicki Ramsdale on Sept. 17, 1977 in Rock Island.
He graduated from Alleman High School in 1974. Mick worked 32 years at Nichols Aluminum, Davenport.
He coached Rock Island Little League baseball for 12 years and RIMBA basketball for two years. Mick was a great Father and terrific Husband. He loved his family and enjoyed participating in all their activities. Mick also enjoyed landscaping.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki; sons, Kyle, of Colorado and Tyler and Dylan, both of Rock Island; sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Mike Kavanaugh, Rock Island, and Sally and Jim Hokinson, Janesville, Wis.; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Donna Ramsdale, Rock Island. He was preceded in death by his parents.
