| Christina E. Blancke, 55, of Rock Island, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her death. Memorial services for Ms. Blancke will be 7:30 pm, today at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island. Visitation will be today from 4 until the time of the memorial service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Christina E. Blancke Cancer Fund in c/o the RIA Federal Credit Union. A celebration of life and benefit will be held on July 19th at the Milan American Legion starting at Noon.
Christina was born on December 26, 1953 in Davenport, the Daughter of Charles and Madeline Best Blancke. She worked at the Group O Marketing Solutions in Milan as a Customer Service Representative. Christina loved and cherished her family.
Survivors include her mother, Madeline, Rock Island; daughter and son in law, Abby and Danny Charfauros, Rock Island; grandson, Ashton Charfauros; sister
and brother in law, Tracy and Jeff Wilson, Sherrard; nieces, Kelsey and Payton Wilson; nephew, Bryar Wilson.
Christina was preceded in death by her father, Charles Blancke and her special puppy, “Charlie”. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.wheelanpressly.com
