Glenn R. Mueller, 84, of Taylor Ridge, died Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan. Burial is at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Taylor Ridge. Visitation is an hour prior to the service at the church. The family will also greet family friends at the home of Gregory and Diane Mueller from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, the Rock Island County Farm Bureau Foundation or to Trinity Pathway Hospice.
Glenn was born January 19, 1925 in Taylor Ridge, a son of William and Lois Winegard Mueller. He married Peggy L. Doak on May 27, 1951 in Davenport.
He farmed in the Taylor Ridge area his entire life. Glenn recently retired as a Buffalo Prairie Township Trustee.
He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan and life member and former director and past president of the Rock Island County Farm Bureau. Glenn was also a former director of the Land Bank now known as First Farm Credit. He loved his Lord, enjoyed woodworking and sharing his craft with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy; daughter Candace Mueller and her husband, David Racine, Springfield, Ill.; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Diane Mueller, Taylor Ridge; grandchildren, Rebecca and Peter Racine and Danielle and Ryan Mueller; brothers and sisters-in-law, Allan and Gloria Mueller, Urbana, Ill. and Richard and Marlene Mueller, Taylor Ridge; sister, Marjorie Wood, Clinton, Ia.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rachel Mueller; and a brother, Kenneth Mueller.
