Kay A. Johnson, 68, of Milan, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
The family will greet friends for a time of remembering Kay from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Village Pub, Milan. Graveside services are 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Those wishing to attend should meet at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America.
Kay Baker was born on April 22, 1941 in Caledonia, Minn., the daughter of George and Dorothy Smith Baker. She married Lyle C. Johnson Sr. on May 20, 1967 in Rock Island. He died June 1st.
She retired from Town and Country Lanes, Rock Island, where she was a bartender for over 40 years.
Kay was a member of the Women’s Bowling Congress. She was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling and gardening.
Survivors include her children, Dennis Johnson, Rock Island, Lyle Christopher Johnson Jr., Peoria, Kim Topping, Davenport and Sandra Russell, Milan; grandchildren, Sarah and Ben Johnson, Rock Island, Lyle C. Johnson III, Ft. Campbell, Ky., Samantha Johnson, Idaho and Cameron Wheat and Jesse Topping, Davenport; and great grandchildren, Nathaniel and Tristan.
