| Joffre Wise II, 51, of Moline, died Wednesday August 12, 2009, at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf, IA.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, IL. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice.
Joffre was born February 8, 1958, in Rock Island, a son of Joffre Wise, Sr. and Ethelda Hunter Wise. He married Sarah J. Mosley on June 6, 1989, in Rock Island.
In earlier years he worked at Servus Rubber, Rock Island, for eleven years. He later was the maintenance man at Motel 6, Moline, for 12 years, until retiring for health reasons.
Joffre enjoyed watching old movies, science fiction, and caring for his cats. He especially enjoyed spending time with his friends at their coffee group gatherings.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah, of Moline; sister, Jacquelyn O. Wise, Falls Church, VA; aunt, Ruth Vickers, Dunnellon, FL; cousins, Gloria E. Corbett, Dorothy Lewis, Ronda Morgan, Tijana Morgan, and Gary Morgan; and several in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents. | |
