| Frieda “Babe” Denger, 90, of Davenport, died Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the Tri City Jewish Center, Rock Island. Burial is at the National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. There is no visitation. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Tri City Jewish Center.
The former Frieda Leibowitz was born on May 5, 1919 in Theresa, NY, a daughter of Reuben and Lillian Feitleberg Leibowitz. She married Charles Denger in 1962. He died November 24, 1989.
Frieda owned the former Park Café in East Davenport for many years.
She was a member of the Tri City Jewish Center, Rock Island. Frieda enjoyed playing Bingo.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Kay Novak, Des Moines, Ia.; grandchildren, Lisa Novak (Ashley), Jolie Novak (Alan), Jason Novak and Joshua Novak; and great grandchildren, Sasha and Sadie. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Lena, Cecile and Sadie.
