Agnes G. Justice, 94, a resident of Liberty Village, Geneseo, formerly of Rock Island, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Entombment is in the Calvary Mausoleum, Rock Island. Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where a rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Agnes Dozak was born on July 30, 1915 in Fairmount, N.D., a daughter of John and Mary Wanek Dozak. She married Andrew L. Justice on February 5, 1941 in Wahpeton, N.D. He died on September 19, 1997. Agnes worked as a sales clerk for the F.W. Woolworth Co. at the Rock Island store for 21 years. She retired in 1977. She was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island, as well as a member of the Plus 50 Club of the Church and was an adorer in the Perpetual Adoration Chapel of St. Pius since its inception. Agnes was also a member of the Legion of Mary Auxiliary at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan and its Wilobees Club. She volunteered at the Food Share Program at the Martin Luther King Center, Rock Island since the program was started. Agnes loved nature, trees, flowers, and birds and enjoyed doing word puzzles and playing cards. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, LaRae and Ken DeKezel, Geneseo; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Connie Justice, Rock Island and James and Linda Justice, Milan; grandchildren, Jean Barszczewski, Kathleen Gusse, Jodi Johnson, John Justice, Karen Cowles, Kelli Vandeveer, Kerri Stage, Tamra Dundee, Suzette Hawkins and Janelle Fratzke; 24 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; a sister-in-law, Vivian Borst, Rock Island; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers; a sister; and grandson-in-law, Sam Barszczewski.
