| Geraldine G. “Gerry” Whitney, 84, of Illinois City, passed away Saturday May 22, 2010 at Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 11:00am, Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 801 Edgington Street, Reynolds. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-7:00pm, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Reynolds Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Prairie, Illinois City Volunteer Fire Departments or the Andalusia Ambulance. Geraldine was born on March 17, 1926 in New Windsor, Il, the daughter of Roy and Gertrude (Clark) Miller. She married Raymond Whitney on July 12, 1946 in Reynolds. He preceded her in death.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed camping and square dancing. Later in life, she enjoyed bird watching, gardening and life in general.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Michelle and Donald Krueger, Illinois City; son and daughter in law, Michael and Rhonda Whitney, Taylor Ridge; grandchildren, Jennifer Krueger, Melissa Krueger, Lance Whitney, Rebekah (Jason) Martin, Brandon Whitney and great granddaughter, Brooklyn Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Shirley Hazdra, Freda Reynolds; brothers, Boyd Miller and Roy Miller Jr.
