Leslie “Les” D. Lashbrook, 79, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at his home. Graveside services will be 1 pm Monday at the Industry Cemetery, Industry, IL. where military rites will be conducted by the Macomb American Legion Post No. 6. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 pm at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society. Les was born on February 7, 1931 in McDonough Co., IL. the son of George L. Lashbrook and Claira H. Phillips Lashbrook. He married Rosalie Martin on February 17, 1952 in Macomb. Mr. Lashbrook worked as a truck driver for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Reynolds American Legion Post No. 1166 and the Teamsters Local No. 371 Retirees, Rock Island. Les was a U. S. Army veteran serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his children, Connie Jo Horrick and companion, Martin Rogers, Woodstock, IL., Randy C. Lashbrook and spouse, Peggy Lashbrook, Milan; grandchildren, Kelly, Lesli “Michelle”, Timothy, Teresa “Terri”, Kasey and Tony; great grandchildren, Kammie, Brandon, Hayley, Emma`le, Alissa, Jamie, Timothy and James. Les was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene Lashbrook and long time companion, Maggie Castor. Mr. Lashbrook is also survived by Maggie Castor’s daughter, Karla Osborne and her sons, Eric and Chad Osborne all of Rock Island.
