Martha “Mardi” McIntire, 65, of Rock Island, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf. Memorial services for Mrs. McIntire will be 1:30 pm, Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 – 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or to Trinity Pathway Hospice. Mardi was born April 23, 1945 in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, the daughter of Clifford Josephson and Elizabeth Hartke Josephson. She was a graduate of Alleman Catholic High School, Rock Island. She had attended Blackhawk College, Barat College, Lakeview, IL. and the Art Institute of Chicago. Mardi married Timothy McIntire on June 21, 1969 in Chicago. He preceded his wife in death on September 20, 1987. Mrs. McIntire worked in the Dietary Dept. at Friendship Manor, Rock Island, retiring in 2005. Mardi was a former member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She enjoyed art, gardening, nature and thunderstorms. Mardi never complained and was witty and kind until the very end. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Lizabeth McIntire, Rock Island, Molly and John Fout, Rock Island, Sally and Richard Sutcliffe, Morrisville, PA.; granddaughter, Emily Fout; brothers, sisters and their spouses, Diane and Bob Burg, Atlanta, GA., Nancy Hildebrand, St. Simons Island, GA., Christian Josephson, Whitehall, MI., Ward and Dee Dee Josephson, Whitehall, MI., Pete Josephson, Muskegon, MI., William and Mary Josephson, Whitehall, MI., Elizabeth and Mike Becker, Salt Lake City, UT., Amy Josephson and Companion, Pat Wilke, Whitehall, MI.
