Harold L. Locke, 80, of Moline, died Monday June 21, 2010, at Trinity, Rock Island.
Graveside services and burial with military honors will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
Harold was born February 22, 1930, in Albia, IA, a son of William T. Locke and Mary Nedderman Locke. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Harold married Cecilia R. “Ce Ce” Nonnenmann on January 2, 1954, in Rock Island. She preceded him in death on July 25, 2000.
He worked for 27 years at the Rock Island Arsenal.
Harold loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing dice and card games.
Surviving are his children (and spouses), Stephen (Marilyn) Locke, North Highlands, CA, Joseph Locke, Keene, NH, Charles Locke, Coalinga, CA, and Susan (Mitchell) Lauer, Oregon, IL; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; special friend and companion, Darlene Dooley, Moline; brother, George Locke, Ottumwa, IA; sister, Hazelle Chapman, Albia, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Walter Locke, and sisters, Edith Monk, Ama Fox, Thelma Bates, and Elsie Sereg.
