| Edith Louise Becht, 85, of Bettendorf, IA, formerly of Buffalo, NY, passed away Monday July 5, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center West, Davenport.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Cleveland Heights Christian Church, Cheektowaga, NY. Memorials may be made in her memory to the NEW Music Fund at Cleveland Heights Christian Church or a favorite charity. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Edith was born March 9, 1925 in Atlanta, GA., the daughter of Horace and Bernice (Wallace) Dunn. She married H. Allen Becht on January 26, 1946 in Waukegan, IL.
Mrs. Becht had been employed by Cleveland Heights Christian Church, Cheektowaga, NY for 31 years until her retirement.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, H. Allen Becht, Bettendorf; daughter, Cheryl Becht, Bettendorf; son, Merrill Becht, New Milford, NJ; 2 grandsons, Ross and Ryan Becht and nephew, Hal Millage.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lorraine.
