|Peter D. Johnson, 93, of Moline, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Trinity Rock Island.
Memorial services are 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Private burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 1:00 p.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Memorial Christian Church, Moline.
Peter Dale Johnson was born on November 14, 1916 in Keokuk, Iowa, a son of Fredrick C. and Minnie Hogoboom Johnson. He married Doris Beckwith in 1942 in Kirksville, Mo. Pete later married Diana Louise Hussey Ball on Aug. 19, 1972 in Moline. She died Dec. 9, 2006.
He was a carpenter by trade, working for various quad city contractors including Langman Construction Co. for 23 years.
Pete was a WW II U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Memorial Christian Church, Moline and the Carpenters Union Local 166.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Nathaniel Baird, Atlanta, Ga., and Dr. Pamela Johnson and Jack Kindschuh, Bettendorf; step-daughter, Janis Ball Judd, Boulder, Colo.; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; sisters, Betty Fischer and Mary Carr; and his brother, Leo Johnson.
