| Margaret E. Carlson, 86, of Moline, departed this life on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 at Trinity Rock Island, surrounded by her entire family.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
Margaret Fennesy was born on Oct. 3, 1923 in Rock Island, the daughter of James and Anna Davis Fennesy. She married Lester R. Carlson on Feb. 14, 1945 in Moline.
In early years, Margaret worked for Northwest Airlines in St. Paul, Minn., and then at International Harvester East Moline Works, where she met her future husband. She later worked as a hostess at Ben’s Gourmet, Rock Island.
Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She was one classy lady.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Lester; daughters (and spouses), Cynthia (Glen) Frese, East Moline, Kay (Steve) Banfield, Moline; grandchildren, Shelley Frese, East Moline, Brett (Mary) Frese, Cary, Ill., and Matt (Jennifer) Hallgren, Chicago; and great grandchildren, Tanner Frese, Cary, Ill., Liz Pepke, Lake in the Hills, Ill.and Alexis and Will Hallgren, Chicago. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Kenneth and William Fennesy.
