Shirley B. Bartz, 87, of East Moline, passed away Saturday October 23, 2010 at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Monday at Grace Baptist Church, Moline. Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, Moline or East Moline Christian School.
Shirley was born on July 10, 1923 in Livermore Falls, ME, the daughter of John Joseph and Gladys Mae (Lyman) Ryan. She married Fred J. Bartz on December 23, 1945 in Waterloo, IA. He preceded her in death on August 20, 1983.
Mrs. Bartz was a waitress and home aid over the years. Her favorite times were spent being a Professional Grandma.
Shirley was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Moline; and was a pastor’s wife throughout Iowa, Arkansas, Illinois, Missouri and Ohio. She enjoyed crocheting, and word search puzzles.
Survivors include her children and spouses, Raymond “Skip” (Carol) Bartz, Indio, CA, Sharon (Rev. Joe) Proctor, Milan, Rebecca “Becky” (Ken) Cornwell, Kansas City, MO., Renee Chinn and special friend Don Williams, Sioux City, IA, Tamara “Tammi” (Rod) Evans, Westland, MI.; grandchildren, Skip Jr. (Ginny) Bartz, Gary Bartz, Jay Bartz, James (Natalie) Proctor, Jodi (Ted) Alexander, Joel Proctor, Jonathan Proctor, Joshua Bartz, Jonah Chinn, Janell Evans; step grandchildren, Kenneth Jr. (Heather) Cornwell, James Cornwell, David Cornwell; great grandchildren, Grant, Gabriel, Geoffrey, Grace, Bethany, Glory, Joelle, Emma, Luke Ryan, Jenna, Joshua Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Jeffrey Joseph Proctor; sisters, Gladys Davis, Barbara Adams, Maxine Fickett, Lucille Cummings, Beverly Baglivo; brother, John, Reginald and William Ryan.
