Clemente “Clem” R. Salazar Sr., 63, of Rock Island, IL, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 at his home. Born on January 24, 1947 in Pleasanton, TX to Jesus R. Salazar and Dominga Rodriquez Salazar. He was married to Camilla Martinez Salazar for a time. He later married Judith A. “Judy” Lueders on May 9, 1992, in Rock Island. She survives. Also surviving are his six children (and spouses), Clemente (Deborah) Salazar Jr., Pekin, IL, Jose Salazar, Kansas City, MO, Teresa Guzman, Kansas City, MO, Isibel Salazar, Moline, IL, Tony Salazar, Moline, IL, and Sandra (Cory) Clemons, Rock Island, IL; three step children Fidel Martinez, Rock Island, IL, Debbie Martinez, Austin, TX, and Jennifer Fallin, San Angelo, TX; former daughter-in-law, Missy Salazar, Davenport, IA; 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He also leaves five siblings, Benito R. (Cheryle) Salazar, Rock Island, IL, Cruze (Juan) Jimenez, Manzanola, CO, Jessie Salazar, Margie Carmona, and Andrew (Starr) Salazar, all of Muscatine, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Clem is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Rauina, and nieces, Miriam Salazar and Margie Vicuna. Clem was employed by McAdam, Inc. of Rock Island IL as a mechanic and welder. He previously worked for E. & J. Metal of Rock Island, IL for many years. Clem was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather who would do anything for anyone. He loved spending time with family and friends and caring for his beloved dogs, “Molly” and “Bruno”. In his spare time, Clem enjoyed restoring vehicles. There will be a visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 22 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, IL. No further services are planned. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, 724 W. 2nd Ave., Milan, IL 61264
