Ernest was born in Allentown, PA, the son of Raymond and Myrtle Eroh Kratzer. He married Harriet Seifert, October 18, 1941 in Allentown. She preceded him on May 6, 2006.
Rev. Kratzer was a graduate of Roberts-Wesleyan Jr. College. During his ministry he served churches in Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois and Wisconsin for 45 years before retiring in 1986. He enjoyed visiting his parishioners and supporting local ministerial organizations. His hobbies included model railroading, raising tropical fish and fishing. He also loved spending time with his family.
Survivors and spouses include, daughters, Beverly and Larry Findley, Rock Island, Linda and Rev. Jerry Rich, Chicago; son, Dr. Timothy and Connie Kratzer, Sahuarita, AZ; foster son, Alan and Brenda Burnett, Livonia, MI; foster daughter, Holly Burnett, Paw Paw, MI; grandchildren, Ken, David, John, Nathan, Christine, Steven, Jeremiah, Charis, Anna and Marissa; 14 great grandchildren; sister in law, Winifred Kratzer, Billings MT along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by, daughter, Claris, granddaughter, Diane Findley, parents, brothers, Howard and Raymond; sister, Charlotte.
