Funeral services will be 10:00am, Tuesday July 6, 2010 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-8:00pm, at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, with military Honors by Moline American Legion #246. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.

John was born on July 9, 1929 in Moline, the son of John and Dorothy (Crommer) Raymond Sr. He married Mary L. Claus on July 22, 1950 in Rock Island.

Mr. Raymond was the owner and operator of Johnnie’s Garage. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean War.

John was a member of Heritage Wesleyan Church, Rock Island, Rock Island Moose and Lions Club, Moline American Legion Post 246 and previously had been active in the Rock Island Boosters Club.

He enjoyed watching all sports especially Nascar Races.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years Mary; children and their spouses, Katherine Kissell, Silvis, Michael (Connie) Raymond, Moline, Patricia Lannen, Carbon Cliff, Tina (Anthony) Taylor, Milan; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jeremy Raymond and son in law, Larry Kissell.
