I was shocked and deeply saddened to see the dear face of Jim in the paper today. I went to high school and graduated with him from Alleman. My husband Larry knew Jim from first grade thru Alleman. I know,if Jim were here and I said he was a "real sweetheart", I would embarass him, but he did truly have a REAL sweet heart. He was one of those rare people who gave and gave and wanted nothing in return. Each time I was blessed to run into Jim, I felt our friendship started right at the same point we left it at our last meeting. I was blessed in knowing him and I will truly miss him.

I can't tell you how much Jim will be missed at his church, Sacred Heart Rock Island, that he loved so much. He's a pillar of our family at Sacred Heart and will never be able to be replaced. To the Rasmussen family, It is very hard to imagine Sacred Heart Parish and Alleman High School without the presence of Jim Rasmussen. He was very devoted to both places and will be sorely missed. Jim was an amazing man and will truly be missed. He touched the hearts and lives of many and was good to everyone. I look at Jim as a role model of a perfect way to live life. He was kind, caring, giving, loving, selfless, respectful, gracious and dedicated to Christ.
