| Elsie “Kay” Catherine Swanson, 87, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Hope Creek Care Center, in East Moline. Services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Elsie was born December 13, 1922 in Moline, IL to Axel and Ellen Johnson Swanson. Survivors include; her daughter, Carol Earl, Rock Island; grandchildren, Kimberly Coats, Springfield, IL, Christina Stewart, Rock Island, Cynthia Arnold, Rock Island, and Catherine (Michael) Atkinson, Rock Island; fond great-grandmother of nine; sisters, Helen Smith, North Fort Myers, FL, Elvera Self, Jasper, AL, Hilda Lelonek, Peoria, IL and Anna (William) Grams, Rock Island, IL . Elsie was preceded in death by; her parents; brother, Albert Swanson; and son-in-law, George T. Earl. | |

I am so sorry for the loss of your grandma. Even though she lived a nice, long life, I know it is never easy saying good-bye, you just got to remember that she is in a better place now.
