| Sharline R. “Shorty” Teague, 82, of Rock Island, died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at home. Services for Mrs. Teague will be 11 am Monday at the Second Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be at the church, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island is assisting the family. Sharline was born on November 15, 1928 in Monroe, Missouri, the daughter of John Harrington and Merle Allen Harrington. She married James Teague on October 9, 1942 in Davenport. Sharline worked as a hospital technician at the East Moline State Hospital then later at St. Anthony’s Continuing Care Center, Rock Island. Her memberships include Second Baptist Church, the Active Club and the Morning Star Club. Mrs. Teague loved reading, cooking, knitting, spending time with her family and friends and going on vacations. In earlier years she enjoyed playing cards. Mrs. Teague was known for her beautiful smile and laughter. Survivors include her husband, James; children and spouses, James E. and Karen Teague, Springfield, Ohio, Dennis R. and Patrice Teague, Seattle, Washington, Leon D. and June Teague, Davenport, Brenda C. and John Ewing, Rock Island, Kenneth P. and Yevgeniya, Seattle, Washington; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; sisters, Marrieta Payton, Phoenix, AZ, Aileen “Ruth” Davis, Rock Island, Geraldine Payton, Rock Island; special niece, Phyliss Payton along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends; special friends, The Johnson family, “Babe” Bulgen, The Robinson family, The Huff family and Effie Babers.
