He was the son of James C. and Lillian McMills of Rock Island. Prior to moving to the Quad Cities, Jim lived in upstate New York and Downers Grove, Ill. Jim is survived by his first wife, Rose and their three children, Jonathan, Sean and Anne McMills. He is also survived by his beloved companion, Lisa Brown, who cared for him to the end.

Jim is a lifelong member of First United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hammond, Ind. and since moving to the Quad Cities has attended First Lutheran Church, Rock Island.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, Rock Island. Burial is at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island is assisting the family.
