Interment: Friday November 05, 2010 at National Cemetery, Rock Island, Ill.

Peggy Lee Forrest, 63, of Henderson, Nev., formerly of Bettendorf died Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the Nathan Adelson Hospice, Las Vegas.

Funeral services are 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Burial is at the National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation is 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. A memorial will be established later.

Peggy Lee Thurman was born on May 19, 1947 in Davenport, a daughter of Alvin and Leola Ramm Thurman. She married George H. Forrest on September 25, 1994 in Las Vegas.

She co-owned with her husband, George, several cleaning services in the Quad Cities.

Peggy was a member of the Red Hat Society in Henderson, a Bunco club, enjoyed playing cards and had been a member of several card clubs. She loved children and her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Survivors include her husband, George; children (and spouses), Timothy (Michele) Krebs, Des Moines and Kimberly (Bradley) Rathjen, Bettendorf; stepdaughter, Julie (Mike) Thomas, Davenport; grandchildren, Bryce, Camryn and Kaden Krebs, all of Des Moines; her mother, Leola Thurman, Davenport; and brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Judy Thurman, Davenport. She was preceded in death by her father; and sister, Martha Knabe.

Peggy was an amazing friend, always caring and understanding. We had many years as friends, we laughed at so many things raising our children, a few tears, but mostly laughs. Her gentle soul will always be remembered in my home. God bless the family.
