Memorial Service: 5:00 p.m. Tuesday November 30, 2010 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 312 W. 1st Street, Milan, Ill.
Interment: Private November 30, 2010 at Beulah Cemetery, Rural Township, Illinois

Charles R. Shradar, 72, of Milan, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at Trinity Rock Island.

A celebration of life memorial service for family and friends will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. A private family graveside service will be held earlier on Tuesday. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice or to St. Ambrose Church.

Charles “Chuck” Shradar was born Sept. 17, 1938 in Arispe, Iowa a son of John Carl and Cleo Leone (Brock) Shradar. He served his country in Japan with the United States Marine Corps from 1955 to 1959. He returned home and married Carol Bosold on Jan. 14, 1961. He worked many years through the Teamsters Local 371 in various positions.

Chuck enjoyed his morning coffee with friends and will be remembered by all who knew him as always ready to lend a helping hand.

Chuck is survived by wife, Carol; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Casey Showalter, Altoona, Iowa; granddaughters, Abby Johnson and her husband, Casey, Ankeny, Iowa, Allison and Kaitlin Showalter, Altoona; brothers, Bill (Sue) Shradar, Downey, Calif., Gene (AugaRita) Shrader, Morton, Ill., and Emmett (Carla) Shradar, Naperville, Ill.; sisters, Dolores (Bill) Fox, Rock Island, Dorothy Clason, Milan, and Barbara (Larry) Osterhagen, Milan; sister-in-law, Nancy Shradar, of Florida; aunt, Carol Pugh, Arispe; and brother-in-law, Dan (Barbara) Bosold, Paris, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David Shradar and Dean Shrader; and sister-in-law, Ramona Shrader.

I knew Dave Starder years ago when I was friends w/John Norton. very sorry to read about him in sundays paper, so young too.
