| Renae L. Ekstrom, 25, Coal Valley, passed away Saturday November 27, 2010 at Trinity, Rock Island. Funeral services will be held at 1:30p.m., Wednesday December 1, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00p.m., Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, with a rosary recited at 4:00p.m. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family or ARC of Rock Island. Renae was born on November 29, 1984 in Rock Island, the daughter of Phil and Claire (Williams) Ekstrom. She had been employed by ARC of Rock Island for the last 5 years. Renae was a 2004 Rock Island High School graduate. Miss Ekstrom was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline and had been active in Special Olympics. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Her hobbies included caring for her dogs, playing on her computer and playing games on the Nintendo Wii. Survivors include her parents, Phil and Claire, Coal Valley; grandfather, George Williams, Rock Island; sisters and brothers in law, Shari (Tim) Thompson, Rock Island, Wendi (Tim) DeFauw, Rock Island, Elaina (Chris) Wallin, Minnesota; brothers and sisters in law, Richard Ekstrom, Moline, Robert (Nicole) Ekstrom, East Moline, Rodney (Jennifer) Ekstrom, Davenport, Ryan Ekstrom, Davenport; aunts, Regina Donaway, Cheryl Bobb, Anna Chapman, Susan McKeag; uncle, Don Ekstrom; 17 nieces and nephews and several cousins. Claire, I was sorry to hear of Renaes death. I remember Renae as a very happy little girl when she would come to Harold's on the Rock with you and visit with everyone. May it comfort you to know that she was a very happy person with a great family behind her supporting her.

I am so surprised and saddened to hear of Renae's passing. I believe Renae was at Washington when I started working as the social worker for the PH program. I always loved her. She always had a smile and was such a delight in our social group. You have my deepest sympathy. I am sorry I am unable to attend her service, but do know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
