Pauline A. Taylor, 70, of Rock Island, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2010 at her home.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial is at the National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation is an hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Family House, 1509 N. Knoxville Ave., Peoria, IL 61603.

Pauline Arehart was born Aug. 14, 1940 in Waukegan, Ill., a daughter of J. Merle and Marguerite Seifert Arehart. She married Gilbert C. Taylor on Nov. 28, 1959 in Waukegan.

Mrs. Taylor retired from Westtime, Inc., Davenport.

Pauline was associated with the Rock Island Conservation Club and a member of the British Auto Club of the Quad Cities and Coast Guard Auxiliary, Rock Island Flotilla. She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, caring for her flowers and cooking with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Gilbert; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Edwin Shepherd, North Monmouth, Maine; sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Dalia Taylor, Wichita, Kan., Thomas and Melinda Taylor, Atkinson, Ill. and Chuck Taylor, Punta Gorda, Fla.; grandchildren, Cory and Lindsey Shepherd, Hannah, Madeline, Jacob, Ella and Amanda Taylor; sisters and brother-in-laws, Lois McGreal, Waukegan, Carol and Roger Mitchell, Green Oaks, Ill., Bob Taylor, Santa Barbara, Calif., and Audrey Honea, Jacksonville, Fla.; brother and sister-in-laws, Don and Joy Taylor, Roundlake, Ill., and Frances Jeanne, Westminster, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents.
